Where are the shrines? Look for fountain-like structures
Look for the fountain-like structures around the map and check whether you can kneel beside them. That is the community’s identification hint for a player asking where to use an item for a permanent upgrade.
The reply also points to a character in the Village and Church Courtyard, whose name it gives uncertainly as Heret or Hernet. Use those locations and the conversation as your next lead.

Identify the structure before spending an item
- Inspect a fountain-like structure on a route you can already reach.
- Move beside it and look for the kneeling interaction.
- Check its interaction text for the item you are carrying.
- Confirm any upgrade message or changed value after a valid interaction. The source does not name the item or specify its reward.
Use the Village or Church Courtyard lead
If the structure or item interaction is unclear, speak to the character the reply identifies in the Village and Church Courtyard. The responder was unsure of the spelling, so this guide does not invent an exact entity name.
This is a landmark-and-interaction answer, not a list of every shrine coordinate. The original poster thanked the responder; they did not document every shrine or all item rewards.
Do not confuse identification with a time-cost gate
A shrine you can identify may still have an access cost or require a different item. The separate Paternost shrine discussion concerns a high time cost and an alternative bramble route. Recognising a fountain does not remove that requirement.
If you are carrying Ivo’s seed, its reported destinations are special flower beds. Do not assume a shrine is a substitute for a flower bed.
