Loud, overlapping music: check patch 1.0.0.61

Windows PC release · community answers checked October 12, 2026 · spoilers

The short answer

The developer says Steam patch 1.0.0.61, released October 9, fixes music tracks stacking over repeated loops. If the soundtrack becomes layered and unusually loud on a launch build, first check whether your Steam installation has that update.

A later recurrence should be reported with the installed version and storefront. This does not prove every audio problem, or every platform’s launch build, has the same fix.

Identify stacking rather than ordinary volume

The developer’s known-issue post describes music accumulating over loops and becoming very loud. That is a specific layering bug, rather than evidence that a new overlapping soundtrack is intended.

Lower the game’s volume while checking the build if the sound is uncomfortable. The published fix does not require discovering a hidden Glaive power, changing a save or advancing to a particular ending.

Check the released Steam update

  1. Check your installed build and Steam’s update status for Echo Weaver.
  2. If you are on an older launch build, let Steam apply the available game update.
  3. Confirm that you have 1.0.0.61 or a later released build before comparing the behavior.
  4. After the update, check whether music still layers over subsequent loops.

Keep storefront availability separate

The October 9 developer follow-up explicitly says the Steam fix is live. A later reply says the GOG update is expected shortly; that promise alone does not confirm the build installed from GOG.

If you use GOG or another platform, check its available build rather than treating the Steam announcement as proof that your copy has updated.

If it happens on an updated build

Record the platform or storefront, installed build, and whether the stacking appeared after repeated loops. Compare that report with the released 1.0.0.61 notes.

The source does not establish a second universal fix after the update. Do not erase your progress to test an audio issue. Save-slot support is a separate launch-version limitation.
