Fix reversed Switch controller prompts on Steam
For the reported Switch-controller glyph mismatch, open Echo Weaver’s Steam Properties, choose Controller, and set its override to Disable Steam Input. The developer gives this workaround for A/B and X/Y prompts being reversed.
This is a Windows PC Steam-controller setting, not an instruction for the Nintendo Switch version or a fix for every controller problem.
Route note
Use the game-specific Steam override
- 01Library → Echo Weaver → Properties
- 02Controller → Disable Steam Input
- 03Compare glyphs with the physical buttons
- 04If input breaks, restore the previous setting

Check that the symptom matches
The source describes Switch-style controller labels appearing in the wrong places: A and B are swapped, as are X and Y. The developer identifies it as a known issue and suggests disabling Steam Input for this game.
If the controller is not detected at all, or you use a different controller and have another symptom, this thread does not prove the same change solves it.
Change only this game’s Steam setting
- In the Steam Library, right-click Echo Weaver.
- Open Properties.
- Choose Controller.
- Set the game’s override to Disable Steam Input.
- Return to the game and compare the displayed prompts with your controller.
Use a safe control to check the result
Check a familiar menu or action before using a timed route. The intended result is that the displayed glyph and the physical button agree.
If the mismatch remains or input stops working, restore the previous per-game setting and report the controller model and build. The reply does not establish a universal remapping table, so do not swap every binding based on a guessed layout.
Keep prompt labels separate from action names
For Spillway, the important distinction is the returning Throw versus Hurl. For Tetsa, it is Recall. Correcting the prompts helps you execute those actions; it does not change their puzzle rules.
This is a dated developer workaround. It does not establish that a later patch still needs it, nor that PlayStation or Xbox controllers share the same fault.
